As a collaborative group John Howell, Amanda Webster and I researched, planned, and held a LIVE webinar #MAETBridge focused on Encouraging Reluctant Teachers to Use Technology #MAETert. In our webinar, we interviewed three wonderful guests that we viewed as experts in this area.
Students of all ages in 2017 are being asked to demonstrate technological literacy, outside-the-box thinking, and innovative creativity in order to become successful learners, deep thinkers, and productive members of their global communities. Many educators are stepping up to this challenge, and working to integrate technologies purposefully and meaningfully into their classrooms. But what about teachers who have had success with traditional methods for years? What about those who are a bit leery of these new technologies?

Overall, we had a great conversation touching on some key points related to encouraging reluctant teachers to use technology in their classroom.
Some Key Take Aways:
- The importance of technology coaches, teacher to teacher work, and reflection
- Developing professional development around technology that is meaningful and purposeful
- Using less technology in a DEEPER way makes more of an impact than trying to jump in head first into using lots of technology
- Be a knowledgeable consumer of technology to avoid spending lots of money on items you may not use
